Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout Final Results

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Academy of Art completed the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at Corica Golf Complex on Tuesday afternoon with their second top two finish in as many tournaments to start the spring.

"I am very happy with the team performance this week," said head coach Mitch Lowe. "We played in some difficult conditions, but the team stood up to the challenge."

On day two, the Urban Knights shot the second best round of any team with a cumulative score of 303, and sophomore Anahi Servin claimed individual runner-up honors. The Paraguay native carded a 72 and 73 to end one stroke above par cumulatively and claimed a spot on the All-Tournament team. This is Servin's highest finish since she led Academy of Art to a tournament championship by claiming the individual title at the Dixie State Invitational on Oct. 2.

"Anahi had a really good tournament with only one hiccup along the way," commented Lowe. "Low rounds are coming soon for her."

Sophomore Iveta Posledni continued her reinvigorated spring with another strong sixth place finish. Posledni shot a 75 in the final round to give her a cumulative score of 149 (+5).

"Iveta also played well," said Lowe. "She is starting to believe in herself and that she deserves to be recognized as one of the best players in the conference."  

Junior Elan Hawkins tied for 11th and redshirt junior Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo rounded out the scorers with a 23rd place finish.

The Urban Knights will look to continue, or even improve, their top two trend at the Otter Invitational on March 18-19 at Poppy Hills in Monterey, California.
