2019 USTFCCCA NCAA Division Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS --Â With the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships just over one week away, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2019 outdoor regular season with a total of 27 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Tuesday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning eight members of the Urban Knights men's squad and five women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
fourth in the West Region andÂ
30th in the country (as of May 13),Â
Mobolade Ajomale earned five awards (100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m). Fellow relay teammate
Grant Swinton (200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m) followed with four honors and three selections went to
Christian Carter (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m). Distance specialists
Victor Moreau and
Freddie Hessian each paired up with 1500m and 5000m honors while
Roshard Williams captured his own pair in the 400m and 4x400m. Individual selections went to
Daquan Berry (4x400m) and
Daniel Cortes Gonzalez (HJ).
The women were led by
Ombretta Picciolie Minkue Meye's three All-Region awards (100m, 200m, 4x100m) while one apiece was earned by
Camille Jouanno (TJ) and 4x100m relay teammates
Darria Matthias,
Selena Arjona-Alcazar, and
Hava Turner.
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in Kingsville, Texas. next week on May 23-25.
