2020 Bay Area Invitational Results (Day 1)
PLEASANTON, Calif. –The Academy of Art kicked off its spring season at the Bay Area Invitational on Monday, ending day one of the tournament tied for sixth place with a 15-over-par 591 after two rounds at Ruby Hill Golf Club.
Leading the way for the Urban Knights was junior
Julius Kreutzer, finishing tied for fourth place with a combined score of 3-under-par 141 and a team-high nine birdies. Along with junior
Matthew Watkins, the pair both shot under par and helped ART U to a tie for third place after the first round. Watkins finished the day tied for the third-best scoring on par-3 holes with a 1-under-par. Senior
Gabriel De Leon Manotoc also had a strong first round with a 1-over-par 73.
The best score in the second round for ART U was Kreutzer, closing out his day with an even-par 72. Just behind him was De Leon Manotoc with a 3-over-par 75, finishing the day at 4-over-par 148. Watkins finished just one stroke ahead of him at a combined 3-over-par 147.
The Urban Knights tee off at 7:30 a.m. for the final round of the Bay Area Invitational, as they will be paired with Cal State Monterey Bay, Western Washington, and PacWest rival Holy Names.
