One of three ART U players to shoot a 75 in the first round, Manotoc came back with his best round of the 2019-20 season at 3-under 69 to gain sole possession of fourth of 76 competitors with a combined total of 144. Junior
Julius Kreutzer began with a 1-under 71 then added a 2-over 74 in round two for a total of 145 in a tie for fifth individually. With the second-most birdies on the day (eight), senior
Matthew Watkins paired a 75 opening round with an even 72 for 147 and a tie for seventh. Rounding out the Academy of Art scorers, junior
Zhane Chan heads into day two tied for 26th with a 153 (77-76).
At a combined 585 and carrying individual leader Joey Herrera (139, 70-69), Cal State East Bay holds a two-stroke lead over the Urban Knights (587) and a four-stroke advantage on Dixie State (589). ART U remains 26 strokes in front of the next closest Pacific West Conference team in Holy Names (615).
