Servin Ties For First As Knights Finish Fourth

2021 Bay Area Invitational Full Results

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. – Academy of Art women's golf junior Anahi Servin earned her first tournament win of 2020-21 at the Bay Area Invitational, tying for first place with a 2-under-par 142 at the Monarch Bay Golf Club. As a team, ART U vaulted two places in the final day to finish in fourth place with a combined 69-over-par 645.

"Anahi is in really good form already," said ART U Head Coach Mitch Lowe. "Even this early in the season for us, her game looks very strong. It's probably the best I've seen it ever. As a team we had some struggles this week, however we are just finding our footing. It's very clear on what we have to work on moving forward."

Servin saved the best for last, carding a 3-under-par 69 in the final round to tie for first place along with Alli Kim of Point Loma, as the pair turned in identical scores. The senior used ended the tournament with 24 pars and seven birdies, the third-most in each of those categories. The tournament win is Sevin's first since she captured the 2019 PacWest Championship on April 24, 2019. Point Loma would win the team portion of the tournament with a combined total of 18-over-par 594.

Finishing just outside the top-20 in her first tournament was freshman Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarntying for 23rd place with a 21-over-par 165, while fellow freshman Valeria Ruiz tied for 27th at 24-over-par 168.

The next time out for ART U is the Pioneer Shootout, taking place from the Chuck Corica Golf Complex beginning on Mar. 1.
