2021 PacWest Championships (Final Results)

WAIKOLOA, Calif. – Thanks to the lowest single-round score at 3-under-par 67 in her final round, Academy of Art women's golf junior Anahi Servin has captured her third consecutive individual title at the Pacific West Conference Championship with a final score of 2-under-par 208. Servin was one of two Urban Knights to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team, as freshman Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn earned the first top-5 appearance of her career with a fourth place finish at 13-over-par 223. As a team, ART U claimed a runner-up finish by combining for a 85-over-par 925. 

"It was a really good week in Hawaii, and I'm proud of the team for finishing second this year after a fairly tough spring season," said ART U Head Coach Mitch Lowe. "Everyone really put in the work and I am proud of the team as a whole. Anahi was very dominant this week, she is an outstanding team leader and showed that she has the ability to take over a tournament."

All three times that Servin has participated in the PacWest Championship, she has walked away the individual champion, doing so as a freshman in 2018 before repeating as champion in 2019 during her sophomore campaign. With the victory, Servin now owns the most individual victories at the PacWest Championship, passing the previous mark of two held by Haley Dunn of Dixie State (2013, 2015). Now in 2021 (no championship played in 2020), Servin earned a nine-stroke victory, dominating the field with four birdies on the final day and posting the two lowest single-round scores of the tournament during her second (69) and third (67) rounds. Her total of seven birdies would tie for second-most at the championship tournament, while teammate Rattanaprakarn was fourth with six of her own. 

"It's so cool that she has won three PacWest Championships in a row, and looking forward to the rest of the postseason," Lowe said. "We're very proud of her."

Meanwhile, Rattanaprakarn ended in fourth place after she birdied her last hole and carded a 7-over-par 77 in her final round, the best finish thus far in her career. As a team, the Knights would finish behind only the champion Point Loma despite shooting the lowest final round as a team (22-over-par 302), who would combine for a 64-over-par 904 to capture the team portion. 

"It was a really good week for Plern, a fourth place finish in her first PacWest Championship," Lowe said. "She is a hard worker and found her game in the last couple of tournaments. Look for some great things out of her moving forward as well."

Moving up three spots to finish in 22nd place was junior Iveta Posledni, ending the tournament at 36-over-par 246 after she shot a 5-over-par 75 in the final round. Finishing up the scoring for ART U was freshman Tessa Geenen, tying for 29th place 58-over-par 268.
