2021 WGCA DII All-American Team
DEARBORN, Mich. – Much like she did in round two, Academy of Art women's golf junior
Anahi Servin made another leap up the leaderboard at the NCAA Division II National Championship from TPC Michigan on Thursday, vaulting seven spots in the final round to tie for ninth place at 6-over-par 222. Based upon her finish (placing in top 10), Servin was named an NCAA All-American
for the third time in her career.
"I'm just really proud of the effort Anahi put in this week," said ART U Head Coach
Mitch Lowe. "After a rough start, to battle back the last two days and move herself inside the top 10 was really great to see. Even though she didn't have her A-game this week, Anahi showed a lot of grit and that she belong swith the best in the country."
Claiming the 27th top-10 finish in her in 32 career tournaments, already an ART U program record, Servin made the leap up to ninth place after she carded an even-par 72 in her final round. Servin would start her day with a bogey on the first hole, quickly regrouped with a birdie on the second, but found another bogey on hole four. Servin would close out the front nine with five consecutive saves for par to make the turn at 1-over on the round.
Looking at her final nine holes to play in the 2021 season, Servin found another gear and tallied a 1-under-par on the back nine, dropping a birdie on 13th hole while saving all others for par. Her bogey-free back nine put her in contention as the tournament was coming to a close and ultimately the Architecture major was able to clinch her spot as an All-American. She would end the tournament with a total of seven birdies, while combing for a 2-under-par on par-5 holes (4.83 stroke average).
Servin finished tied for ninth and was 12 shots off of individual leader Helen Kreuzer of Lynn University, who ended the action at 6-under-par 210. Limestone University was the overall team winner, combining for an 18-over-par 882 as a unit.
