2021 NCAA DII West/South Regional (Second Round)
DUPONT, Wash. – Academy of Art men's golf forged ahead in the second round of the NCAA DII West/South Central Regional despite tough conditions on Friday, but ART U would drop back in the tournament field as they currently sit in 12th place at 26-over-par 602.
Entering the day in a tie for eighth place, the Knights combined for a 21-over-par 309 during the second day of action, now a total of 19 strokes back of current team leader Oklahoma Christian (7-over-par 583). ART U is joined by familiar company, as the Knights are just one strokes ahead of fellow PacWest member Holy Names, as the Hawks are in 13th at a combined 22-over-par 603.
Leading the way for ART U is junior
Julius Kreutzer, as he moves one spot back into a tie for 12th place after turning in a 2-over-par 74 during the second round thanks to a pair of birdies on the back nine. Overall, Kreutzer is just 1-over-par (145), just five strokes back of individual leader Andrew Ni of Colorado State Pueblo (4-under-par 140). Next up for the Knights is senior
Otto Homruen in a tie for 45th place at 7-over-par 151, as the senior carded a 3-over-par 75 during the day's round. Rounding out the ART U scoring are senior
Gabriel De Leon Manotoc in a tie for 50th place (8-over-par 152) and junior
Matthew Watkins tied for 66th (10-over-par 154).
The Knights will look to make a move in the final round of the NCAA DII West/South Central Regional, as the Knights tee off for the last day's action beginning at 8:45 a.m. PST.
