2023 Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout (Final Results)
ALAMEDA, Calif. – After forcing a stoppage to play yesterday in the opening round which ultimately resulted an early end to the day, inclement weather returned at the 2023 Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout to force a cancellation of the second round, with all first round scores deciding team and individual winners. Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn ended up in a tie for fourth place thanks to her opening round score of 4-over-par 76, which was strong enough to capture a spot on the All-Tournament Team, while ART U tied for 12th as a unit.
Rattanaprakarn fired off her 4-over-par 76 yesterday which was was boosted by her score on the back-nine, where she was 1-under-par with birdies on the 13th and 17th holes. Despite her tying with five others in the tournament field for fourth place, Rattanaprakarn earned her spot on the All-Tournament Team thanks to a scorecard playoff. As a squad, the Urban Knights had combined for a score of 40-over-par 328, which locked them into a tie for 12th place along with Dominican.
Point Loma remained the top PacWest finishing team in second place at 24-over-par 312 thanks to boasting the tournament's individual winner in Alli Kim, who was 1-under-par 71 for the first round. Winning the team portion of the action was host school Cal State East Bay, finishing with a six-shot lead over PLNU thanks to the Pioneers' 18-over-par 306. Academy of Art will return to the greens in just under a month's time, as the Urban Knights will participate in the DBU Invitational from Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif. on Mar. 20 and 21.
