2023 Hanny Stanislaus Invitational (Final Results)
TURLOCK, Calif. – Academy of Art men's golf was back on the course Tuesday for round three of the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational after finishing the first two rounds yesterday, and the Urban Knights ended the action with a combined score of 91-over-par 955 in 16th place.
Concluding the tournament as the top ART U finisher was sophomore
Giulio Zanichelli as he closed the tournament in 68th place with a 18-over-par 234, though he had a tougher final round in which he was 11-over-par 83. Posting the best final round by an Urban Knight was junior
Allan Osornio, carding a 4-over-par 76 thanks to a 1-over on his back nine where he had birdies on the 12th and 13th, which helped him jump up the leaderboard into a tie for 71st place at 21-over-par 237. Rounding out the scoring for Academy of Art was sophomore
Anson Pan in a tie for 76th place at 23-over-par 239, and junior
Jack DeBenedetti it a tie for 93rd at 31-over-par 247.
Though they combined for a 10-over-par in the final round, Western Washington held on for the win as a team with an overall combined score of 7-over-par 871, finishing 10 strokes better than second place Simon Fraser (who was just 1-ove-par in the final round). The Vikings also had the tournament's individual winner, as Jordan Lee captured a two-stroke win thanks to his 4-under-par 212, just edging out HNU's Luke Dugger. Holy Names finished the action as the top Pacific West Conference team in fourth place with a 21-over-par 885.
Academy of Art will be back on the links in one week, as ART U travels to Goodyear, Ariz. to participate in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic beginning on Monday, April 3.
