Otter Invitational (Round 1 & 2)

SEASIDE, Calif. –
Battling in a packed field with 19 total teams, Academy of Art men's golf came out of nearly the entirety of the first two rounds and opening day sitting in 10th place as the competition at the Bayonet Golf Course will conclude the second and third rounds tomorrow.

Leading the Urban Knights through the first day of action was senior Giulio Zanichelli, as he currently holds a 2-over-par tied for 14th place while he will enter the 16th hole of his second round. Zanichelli's fellow fourth year in senior Anson Pan is not far behind him with a 4-over-par tied for 22nd as he has just two holes to play to finish his second playthrough.

The trio of first years are next up for ART U as freshman Mario Stump currently holds an 8-over-par, while freshman Kok Siew "Andy" Chew and freshman Ekam Singh each hold a 17-over-par by day's end.

As the Knights jumped two spots in the team rankings in the second round thus far, Cal State East Bay lead the pack, holding a five-stroke lead over second play Chico State as the Pioneers contain a 1-over-par. Aaron Lee of CSUEB ended the day as the individual leader with his 5-under-par, and holds a three-stroke lead going into day two over Jack Hayden of Santa Clara who jumped 46 spots in the ranks within his second round.

The second round of action will finish off starting at 8 a.m., and the field will play out the remaining third round thereafter.
