IRVINE, Calif. – Opening up his lead over the rest of NCAA Division II by a full five inches in the triple jump, Academy of Art track & field's
Yacouba Gnacko collected his third straight PacWest Field Athlete of the Week selection after a dominant effort in the event at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational. The award is for meets from Apr. 8-14.
Gnacko challenged 42 other jumpers in the event on
Apr. 13 and emerged with the best triple jump in the country once again. An Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifier in the event for the fourth time this year, the native of Paris posted a season-best 51-9.25 (15.78m) on his second attempt.
This is the fourth PacWest weekly honor for Gnacko this season (fifth in his career) after he was previously recognized on
Mar. 19,
Apr. 2, and
Apr. 9.
