SAN FRANCISCO – Adding on a new recruit to the Academy of Art men's golf program, Head Coach
Joe Dolby has announced the signing of Ekam Singh (Elk Grove, Calif./Pleasant Grove High School) to be the second incoming member of the 2024-25 class, joining
Mario Stump.
"I'm excited to have Ekam join Academy of Art men's golf," Dolby said. "He is an incredibly hard worker, he's absolutely addicted to golf, and to get the chance to play college golf after only learning the game for a couple years ago shows what hard work and determination can do for anyone. Ekam has a bright future and will be a great addition to the team culture we are building with this program."
Fairly new to the game of golf as he began playing in just 2021, Singh has already seen impressive marks and finishes, as he was the runner-up at the 2023 San Joaquin Section High School Playoff Tournament, while he has three total career runner-up finishes in Northern California junior golf tournaments. With a current ranking on the Junior Golf Scoreboard of 5864, Singh has shot a career-low competition score of 71. With Singh's current home course being Rancho Murieta Golf Course and Country Club, the future first year has been a student of PGA Instructor Phillip Dawson, the winner of 2023 NCPGA Teacher of the Year award.
"I'd like to thank my family for believing in me, especially my mom and dad for going with me to every tournament that I have played," Singh said. "I thank God for all the blessings he has given me and allowed me to accomplish these incredible goals."
Singh will become a Communications & Media Technologies major at Academy of Art as a freshman this coming Fall.
