Sonoma State Spring Invite (Day 1)

SONOMA, Calif. – Ahead of 11 teams at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational through two rounds, Academy of Art men's golf rolled with a combined 21-over-par 597 as a unit, additionally ahead of three ranked opponents and all six Pacific West Conference rivals in the tournament en route to their fourth place ranking after the first day of action. 

Leading the squad with a combined 2-under-par 142, junior Zach DuBourdieu stands tied for third place individually as he put together seven birdies or better through the first 36 holes while simultaneously getting a hole-in-one to go on Hole 7 of his second round. DuBourdieu's first round 2-under-par 70 ranks as his best singular round in the 2024-25 season, and is equal with freshman Mario Stump's second round as well. After Stump's strong second play through, he ranks 12th place individually. Rounding out the team score for ART U are the senior duo in Giulio Zanichelli and Anson Pan, who show a 9-over-par 153 and 10-over-par 154 respectively. Closing out the squad was freshman Ekam Singh, who put together a 14-over-par 158.

Ahead of the pack after the first day, Cal State Monterey Bay ranks first as a team with their combined 10-over-par 586, while Chico State is next up and six strokes behind with their 16-over-par 592. On the individual side, Naoki Easterday of Chico State and Simon Bjorken lead the way with their 4-under-par 140 apiece, two strokes ahead of Tyler Price of Cal State San Bernardino and DuBourdieu.
