East-West Invitational Team Final ResultsEast-West Invitational Individual Final ResultsLIVERMORE, Calif. – All 11 golf teams entered the second and final day of the East-West Invitational on Tuesday with the hopes of improving their scores rom a grueling 36-hole day one.
The Urban Knights entered the day in 7
th place as a team with several players looking to continue their progression up the leaderboard.
One of such players included sophomore
Oskar Frick who began the third round tied for seventh place. Frick shot another dominant 18 holes, tying his round one score of 74 which landed him in third place for the tournament (224 overall and just one stroke behind second-place Matt Thomas of Holy Names). The third-place finish is the first top-three placement of the spring for the Sweden native and his second during the 2015-16 academic year. The sophomore's first appearance on the podium was when he won the
Sonoma State Invitational in October.
ART U also had two other players finish the invitational within the top 25. Senior
Dat Do tied for 10th-place overall after shooting a 76 in the final round. Do's top-ten finish is his highest ranking of the 2015-16 season.
Sophomore
Daniel Cosgrove rounded out Academy of Art's top-25 finishers (T23) posting a 75 in his final 18 holes (his best score of the tournament).
At the end of the day, the Urban Knights placed sixth overall with a score of 929, just one stroke shy University of Hawaii Hilo's 928. ART U has been a strong contender in the spring thus far, placing within the top ten in both of their tournaments.
The Urban Knights will spend the next three weeks preparing for the NDNU Invitational which will take place at Poppy Ridge on Monday, March 7.
