2015-16 D2CCA Women's Basketball West Region All-Star TeamAfter being named
Pacific West Conference Defender of the Year and
All-PacWest First Team each for the second time in her career, senior guard
Jasmin Guinn garnered another prestigious honor on Sunday, earning a spot on the 2015-15 NCAA Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association West Region First Team. It is the second time ever that an Academy of Art University women's basketball player has been selected.

Ranked fourth in the country in steals per game (3.5) by the regular season's end, Guinn elevated her game to a new level as a senior. The Knights' leading scorer (19.3 points per game, fourth in PacWest) and rebounder (8.4 rebounds per game, ninth in PacWest), Guinn posted 13 double-doubles on the year while helping her team make its third NCAA Tournament appearance. A
2016 Coach Wooden Cup Semi-Finalist, the senior guard was twice named PacWest Player of the Week (
Nov. 16,
Feb. 15) and a three-time PacWest Defender of the Week (
Nov. 30,
Jan. 11,
Feb. 1).
This season, Guinn set new program single-season records for points scored, steals, and free throws made. After becoming the first player in program history to
surpass 1,000 career points, she would achieve a new program single-game scoring record with 35 points in a
Nov. 27 win over Cal State Monterey Bay. The Berkeley, Calif. native logged three or more steals in 24 of her 33 games played, tying ART U's single-game record with eight thefts on
Senior Day against Notre Dame de Namur. Guinn, a
2015 GNAC/PacWest Yellowjacket Challenge All-Tournament Team selection, also set a series of program career records including points scored and steals while becoming the first Urban Knight to break the 800-rebound barrier.
Joining Guinn on the D2CCA All-Region First Team were guard Cassidy Mihalko of California Baptist, forwards Kelly Hardeman of Azusa Pacific, Megan Mullings of Alaska Anchorage, and Farrah Shokoor of UC San Diego.
All five players on the first-team will now move on to a national vote and are eligible to earn a spot on the D2CCA All-America team.
