Western Washington Invitational Final Results
BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Academy of Art capped off the Western Washington Invitational with a solid third round to secure eighth place out of a sizable field of 20 teams.
"I'm really proud of the way the guys bounced back after the first tournament," said head coach

Junior
Gabriel De Leon Manotoc was the top scorer for ART U with his best round coming in the third with 72 (E) strokes. He improved his score by o

ne stroke every round, shooting a 74 (+2) in the first and a 73 (+1) in the second. Manotoc ended the tournament tied for 16th.
Second for Academy of Art was senior
Lawrence Liang whose best round came in the first when he shot an even 72. He followed the performance with back to back rounds of 76 strokes, placing him tied for 43rd. Liang also placed on the birdies leader-board producing nine throughout the event, the most of any Urban Knight.
Rounding out the scoring for the Urban Knights were senior
Jose Lopez Butron, junior
Otto Homruen, and sophomore
Matthew Watkins. Lopez placed highest out of the trio, shooting his lowest round in the first with a score of 74 (+2), and a cumulative score of 225. Watkins and Homruen tied for fourth with a total of score of 227. Homruen shot an impressive 73 (+1) and collected ART U's first eagle of the year in the second round.
After the back to back tournaments, Academy of Art will have an elongated break. Their next event will be a dual match with Notre Dame de Namur Oct. 15 at scenic Half Moon Bay Ocean Course. Â Â
