Sierra Central Wildcat Classic Day One Results

CHICO, Calif. – Academy of Art men's golf ended the first day of the Sierra Central Wildcat Classic at the Butte Country Club in sixth place with a cumulative score of 593. The Urban Knights were led by junior Zhane Chan who finished his day in a tie for eighth after shooting 1-under-par 143. 

Chan shot a 1-over-par 73 in the first round before improving three strokes in round two with his 2-under-par 70 on four birdies, 12 pars, and a pair of bogeys. Coming off his first individual title at the Concordia Invitational, junior Julius Kreutzer ended the day in a tie for 24th after shooting 3-over-par and 2-over-par for a cumulative 149. Junior Matthew Watkins trailed him, with a 152, on back-to-back rounds of 4-over-par 76 and senior Gabriel De Leon Manotoc rounded out the ART U scorers with his 153. 

The Urban Knights will return to the links of the Butte Country Club to close out the Sierra Central Wildcat Classic tomorrow morning.
