PacWest Weekly Awards (Apr. 18)

IRVINE, Calif. – Strong individual and combined results toward Outdoor Nationals at Mt. SAC Relays pushed Academy of Art track & field's Shareez Hamm to be named Pacific West Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

First in action on Apr. 15, Hamm offered two of his best performances of the season in the 110m and 400m hurdles. He began by taking nearly 0.10 seconds off his previous season-best with a 14.72 in the 110mH then delivered an Outdoor Nationals provisional 52.69 to tie for the country's 15th fastest mark thus far in 2022.

Challenging NCAA Division I programs like UC Davis and Cal State Northridge on the final day of Mt. SAC Relays, Apr. 16, Hamm teamed with Daquan Berry, Duncan Agyemang, and Ajani Ince to go 40.59 in the 4x100m relay. ART U rose over 10 spots into a tie for 13th in the nation and was just less than one-tenth of a second from the top five in program history.

This is the first PacWest Track Athlete of the Week honor in Hamm's career.
