Servin Named PacWest Golfer Of Year, Park Third Team

2021-22 All-PacWest Awards

Anahi ServinIRVINE, Calif. – For the first time since the 2018-19 season, Academy of Art women's golf has earned multiple Pacific West Conference postseason honors, including junior Anahi Servin taking home the conference's top award as the Golfer of the Year for a PacWest record fourth time in her career. Additionally, Servin was named to the All-PacWest First Team while sophomore Jae Eun Park earned All-PacWest Third Team honors.

"[I'm] really happy and proud for both Anahi and Jae," said ART U Head Coach Mitch Lowe. "Both worked really hard this spring and it's nice to see that they were rewarded for that. It will be tough losing Anahi after this year, but we look forward to more great tournaments from Jae and the rest of the team."

Servin is the only women's golfer in PacWest history to be named the Golfer of the Year in four collegiate seasons, and is just the third student-athlete in PacWest history across all sports to win a Golfer/Runner/Player of the Year award four times, joining Dallas Zhang from BYU-Hawaii in women's tennis and Shih Ting Chen from BYU-Hawaii in women's volleyball.

Jae Eun ParkWhile she would fall just one stroke shy of going 4-for-4 at the PacWest Championship in individual titles, ending as the runner-up despite lowering her score by one stroke in each round, Servin still won three separate tournaments this season to further increase her ART U record to 13 for her career. Additionally, she also collected another pair of top-3 finishes, and recorded the third-lowest average round score with a 74.41 across a total of 22 rounds thus far (not counting NCAA DII West Regional). Her lowest round of the year was an 8-under-par 63 which she turned in during the opening round of Birdie Fest. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first time she has received the award since the 2018-19 season

Park ended her season as the No. 12 ranked golfer in the PacWest, earning her a spot on the All-PacWest Third Team this year. With an average of 78.86 strokes per score across a total of 22 rounds, Park collected one top-10 finish and a pair of top-20 finishes, with her best outing of the year coming at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout where she tied for 7th place with a 2-over-par 146. Her lowest round of the year was a 1-over-par 73, which she did twice in each of the two rounds of the aforementioned Pioneer Shootout. This is the first All-PacWest honor for Park in her career.

A vote by the PacWest head coaches determined the individual honors and the All-PacWest teams were determined by the players' GolfStat ranking, based on stroke average. This is the first time that the Urban Knights have had multiple All-PacWest selections since the 2018-19 season when they had a total of five selections, four of which were named to the First Team.
