PacWest Weekly Awards (Oct. 9)

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Giulio Zanichelli made sure to sprint out of the blocks in his 2024 men's golf campaign, as the native of Parma, Italy has earned his second straight Pacific West Conference Golfer of the Week award after finishing as the individual runner-up at the Wildcat Classic.

The Industrial Design major, who finished the tournament with a 10-under-par 206, ended in second place for the second time of the fall 2024 season through three tournaments. After concluding the first day, Zanichelli put together a 9-under-par 135 to give himself sole possession of first place going into the final round, as he recorded a 4-under-par 68 and 5-under-par 67 in the first two. In the process, Zanichelli saw nine birdies drop on the day, as well as two eagles, both on the third hole en route to his -9 score.

Finishing the tournament off with a 1-under-par 71 in the third round, Zanichelli secured his second place ranking as he sunk four more birdies to push him to under par. Through three tournaments in the fall campaign, the Wildcat Classic tallies Zanichelli's third-straight tournament he led his squad, while he's ranked top-5 on the individual leaderboard in all three.

This Golfer of the Week honor is the third of Zanichelli's career and is the second for this season, after he received his first on Oct. 2.
