PacWest Weekly Awards (Oct. 2)

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Starting off the fall season strong as the individual runner up at the WWU Invitational with his 11-under-par 205 and tying the second-best individual round score for the program (-5), senior Giulio Zanichelli has received his second career Pacific West Conference Golfer of the Week honor.

While Zanichelli, the 2024 PacWest Golfer of the Year, tied for fourth after the first day of competition at the WWU Invite with a 6-under-par 138, the native of Parma, Italy made an attack and shot his best round of the campaign with his 5-under-par 67 on the second day of action, finishing with his 11-under-par 205 as the tournament individual runner up. Zanichelli hit five birdies throughout the third round with no bogeys or worse to pair them up with his 12 from the prior two rounds, totaling 17 between the three rounds.

This third round score is the third best of Zanichelli's career, as he shot a 6-under-par on two occasions last season at the Nighthawk Invitational on Mar. 5, 2024, as well as the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational soon after on Mar. 26, 2024. The round was also the sixth-best of the tournament out of all 212 played, while it ranks as the lowest thus far for the Urban Knights this season.

This Golfer of the Week honor is the second of Zanichelli's career and is the first for ART U this season.
