2023 CSC Academic All-District At-Large Teams
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Excelling as both students and athletes, Academy of Art men's golf sophomore
Giulio Zanichelli and women's golf junior
Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn were awarded spots on the 2023 Academic All-District At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Student-athletes were selected by CSC members and recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To qualify for the CSC All-District At-Large Teams in Division II, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater through the most-recent semester and must have completed one full calendar year at her institution (graduate students are an exception to this requirement). A total of 296 men from 101 institutions were honored along with 431 women from 122 institutions. Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot to be announced in June.
Named to the
All-PacWest Second Team while working toward a 3.69 cumulative GPA in the School of Industrial Design, Zanichelli turned in a standout sophomore season. The native of Parma, Italy lowered his career average score with a 74.79 while leading the team in six of nine tournaments (24 rounds) in 2022-23. His lowest single round score of the season came at the SMU Bishop Invitational where he
opened the action with a 4-under-par 68 to tie for the ninth-lowest single round score in program history. Voted the team's Most Valuable Player, Zanichelli finished inside the top 20 five times during the campaign including
19th place at the PacWest Championship Tournament to close the year.
Along with achieving a 3.74 cumulative GPA in the School of Fashion, Rattanaprakarn made important contributions to ART U on the golf course this past year. Taking three turns leading the Urban Knights through their 10 tournaments, the one-time WGCA All-American Scholar and two-time Academic All-PacWest honoree worked to deliver a 79.94 average score during the 2022-23 season. The Bangkok, Thailand native finished among the top 20 three times including a
Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout All-Tournament Team result that saw her claim fourth and Birdie Fest where
her season-best 2-over-par 73 helped put her fifth overall.
"Plern is one of the most hard-working individuals that I have ever met," said Head Coach
Beth Allen. "Her dedication to golf and education inspires me and I feel so privileged to have a person like her on the team. Fashion is one of the most demanding majors at ART U and this makes her achievements in the classroom even more impressive. I am so proud of her and I can't wait to see what the future holds for our Plern."
This is the second time Zanichelli and Rattanaprakarn have received CSC All-District academic honors in their respective careers.
