PacWest Weekly Awards (Apr. 15)
IRVINE, Calif. – After winning the Sonoma State Invitational with the
lowest two-round tourney score in ART U men's golf history at 9-under-par 135, junior
Julius Kreutzer has been recognized as the Pacific West Conference Golfer of the Week for the third time this season. The award is for tournaments played from Apr. 8-15.
This marks the third individual title for Kreutzer, who took home first place in each of his first two tournaments of the year starting with the
Bay Area Invitational on Feb. 23 before also capturing the
NNU Nighthawks Invitational on Mar. 9. With the finish, Kreutzer also
broke moved up in the program's record book with his seventh career top-10 result. During the first round, Kreutzer posted the lowest single round score of the tournament at 5-under-par 67, and would combine six birdies with an eagle in the final round to notch a five-stroke victory. Kreutzer posted the top mark for the entire tournament field in birdies (12) as well as par-4 score (4-under; 3.8 average strokes), helping the Urban Knights to win
their second tournament as a team.
It is the third time this season an Urban Knight has been awarded the PacWest Golfer of the Week, all belonging to Kreutzer (previously:
Mar. 11,
Mar. 17).
