2021 GCAA DII PING All-American Teams
NORMAN, Okla. – The record-setting season for Academy of Art men's golf junior
Julius Kreutzer continues to bring in the accolades, as he has been named a Division II PING All-American Team Honorable Mention as announced on Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
After already having been selected to the
2021 GCAA NCAA DII PING All-West Region Team, the
2021 Pacific West Conference Golfer of the Year has earned All-American honors for the first time in his career. The three-time PacWest Golfer of the Week won his first two tournaments of the season (
Bay Area Invitational and
NNU Nighthawks Invitational) en route to
winning a total of three by the end of the year, ultimately culminating in a
runner-up placement at the PacWest Championship that would move Kreutzer into second place for career top-10 finishes in ART U program history with a total of eight, trailing only his current teammate
Matthew Watkins (10).
After placing first or second in five of his six tournaments played in, Kreutzer would compete at the
NCAA DII West/South Central Regional where he tied for sixth. By the end of the season, Kreutzer posted the lowest average round score in ART U history with a 71.88 over 17 rounds, helping the Urban Knights to their first PacWest Championship as a team in program history, and earning spots on on both the
All-PacWest First Team and the
PacWest All-Tournament Team. The native of Timmendorfer Strand, Germany added a pair of academic awards yesterday, securing
CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team and PacWest Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
It is the first time in Kreutzer's career receiving All-American honors, and it is the first time an Urban Knight has received the award in program history.
